The way I work
I take a pluralist approach to counselling, meaning that I seek to create an equitable, collaborative relationship with each and every client I work with.
Whilst I draw on some of the more widely accepted psychological approaches such as person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT, as well as using creative techniques, most importantly, I seek to find the best course of counselling for each individual client, one that reflects your unique personality, needs, wants and life experiences and where you are at in your life’s journey.
I strive to treat each client with a non-judgemental attitude and with respect, acceptance, openness, honesty and integrity.
I am told I offer a warm and welcoming space to my clients particularly to those feeling lost, confused, angry, unsure, in pain, in despair, feeling vulnerable, sad, betrayed, hurt, lonely, stuck or simply uneasy.

I provide up to 60 minute sessions for individuals over the age of 16 (no couples).
Clients can choose longer sessions, up to 90 minutes pro rata or shorter if they wish.

I feel so much value in my session's with Shona, more than I ever thought I’d find in counselling. I love the way she asks if I can see any connection and how she reflects back what she sees. You know when it comes to healing and personal development, there’s a saying, 'things might get worse before they get better', now, I feel I’m at the ‘better’ part with her.

Shona has become someone that I can trust completely with my innermost thoughts and struggles. She has always listened with compassion and no judgement. She has helped me put my worries into perspective and to understand where some of them stem from which makes it easier to overcome as well. She has been my constant and rock over the last few years and supported me through a very rough time in my life and I feel that with her advice and guidance I have grown as a person.

Shona has been amazing in helping me discover the reasons why I am so socially anxious, and it’s honestly absolutely changed my life, and I’m not saying that lightly; she's helped me incredibly. I don’t think words can express how grateful I am to her for what she's done, and she has shaped my future in such a positive light, for that I will be forever grateful and remember always.c
